Service

What is ARTFam?

ARTFam (Assisted Reproductive Treatment Families Australia) is the newly formed, first totally inclusive not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting, educating, connecting, and advocating for everyone touched by ART and the donor conceived community.

Building Bridges,
Not Barriers

ARTFam proudly collaborates with existing not-for-profits, industry experts, and professional bodies to make fertility support more inclusive, accessible, and compassionate for everyone.

For Every Path to Parenthood

ARTFam is here to connect, empower, and support all families and individuals navigating Assisted Reproductive Treatment and the donor-conceived community.

Our Founders

Run by mothers who have all conceived through ART, the founders of ARTFam have spent over a decade supporting thousands of families just like theirs — families built through courage, science and an incredible amount of heart.

The journey to parenthood through ART isn’t easy. It comes with emotional highs and lows, legal confusion, financial strain, and a lot of feeling like you’re navigating this path alone.

Information

Why ART
Matters?

Through years of work with ASMBC (Australian Solo Mothers by Choice) and the wider fertility community, it became clear that far too many people were being left without independent, accessible support — with nowhere to obtain the vital information they needed, with special focus on minimising the chances of things going wrong.

Infertility in the Population

1 in 6 couples struggles with infertility.

Assisted Reproductive Technology Use

1 in every 18 of children born today through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).

Testimonials

What Our Members Are
Saying

Positive experiences from people who have benefited from therapy and events.

Alexandra Collier

“I have been a member of the Australian Solo Mothers By Choice Facebook group since 2018. I have found it to be a safe space to find solace, support, community and advice on every issue around solo motherhood – right from considering your options during pre-conception to pregnancy woes and parenting dilemmas.”

Karen – Twin Mom

“I have been a part of ASMBC since 2017. I was planning on becoming a solo mum and found the group so supportive, nurturing and informative as I began my journey. When I had my twins the support I gained when they were born premature was nothing short of amazing. Woman I’d never met talked to me when I was scared and shared in my happiness when we got to finally come home.”

Brita Wardell

“ASMBC has helped myself and my daughter immensely. I joined the group in 2016 when my daughter was 2 years old.It was a great way to meet other solo Mum’s who had the same worries, thoughts, exhaustion as me.
It allowed me to open up and share in a safe space. I got to connect with other Mum’s in my area and further a reach and for my daughter to connect and make friends with other kids who had no Dads- just their super amazing Mum!”

Kiera O’Shannessy

“I remember joining this amazing group nine years ago. At that time, the administrator was doing everything themselves, vetting every member to ensure the safety of everyone in the group. Talking with the administrator before my membership was approved as a young, scared, and hopeful mother-to-be, the fact they took the time to chat with me and get to know me put my mind at instant ease. I am incredibly grateful I found this group.

Katrina Gauci

“When I first became a solo mum I had never even heard the term. I started the process and had my daughter, and then a few years later my son. It was a lonely journey by myself. I never knew anyone else who had done this. This group has helped my sanity and made me feel a huge sense of belonging. And my kids know that there are other donor kids like them. So grateful to be a part of this amazing group of strong and independent women.”

Danielle Trembearth

“My name is Danielle and I have been a member of the ASMBC for over 6 years now. I was a member before I was pregnant and it helped relieve a lot of stress during the whole process, just to be able to speak to someone, and bounce ideas off made the journey that much easier. Having a community like we do is amazing, sometimes the conversations are very serious and informative and other are silly and gives everyone a big laugh.”
