Perinatal depression and anxiety impacts around 100,000 Australians each year. You are not alone. These challenges can occur during pregnancy and after birth, and they can affect anyone, regardless of their circumstances. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength. Below are trusted resources to help you find information, support, and connection
“As I sat in my car, alone and crying. I was facing the heartbreaking truth of a missed miscarriage. I had just left my obstetricians office, my 7-week dating scan had shown no heartbeat. Not only was this an IVF pregnancy but also my last embryo. I was back at square one. This is the agonising pain that no one can truly understand unless they had experienced it. I was not ok and needed help.” Sarah – Solo Mother by Choice
“My baby was 4 weeks old, I had dreamt of her my whole life, she was finally here after 3 rounds of IVF, 5 embryo transfers and 1 loss. Yet I was stuck on the floor in the fetal position crying, what was wrong with me? Why was I crying every day? I just wanted to run away… escape. My partner could not understand. I had never had depression before but here it was, hitting me right in the face.” Leanne – Mother of 2
