ABC News Australia Jane*, a professional single woman in her thirties, froze her eggs when she wasn’t sure if she was ready to have children. But when she was ready, she was shocked to find out she couldn’t use them because her state’s laws prevent single females who do not have reproductive health problems from doing so. She says WA laws made her a “reproductive refugee” and she was forced to travel across the country with her eggs to access IVF treatment.
