Join us for a powerful and confronting discussion hosted by ARTFA – Assisted Reproductive Treatment Families Australia, as we give voice to those too often left out of the conversation: Donor Conceived Adults who discovered the truth later in life.

You’ll hear from everyday people who were completely blind sided by the discovery that they were donor conceived:

📣 Amy Tam – Was told at 20, even though she was raised by a Solo Mum by Choice who had kept it secret her whole life.

📣 Emily Fae – At the age of 27, During a COVID lockdown, thought it would be fun to do a DNA test “just for fun” she thought… only to uncover the truth about her identity.

📣 Lyndal Bubke – Aged 30 was sitting at her work desk, when she found out she was donor conceived.

📣 Ben Schablon– Was 43 when he found out he was donor conceived. It was completely unexpected and life changing.

These brave individuals are speaking out to tell their Story, & to shine a light on why transparency, ethics, and urgent legislative reform are so desperately needed in Australia’s IVF and donor conception system.

We thank them for their courage in speaking up. What they’ve been through is not easy, and yet they’ve chosen to share their stories to help others on similar journeys. Their hope is that by speaking out, the trauma can stop with this generation.

Whether you’re a parent, donor-conceived person, donor, family or friend, allied health professional, policy-maker, or just someone that cares, this conversation is essential for understanding what meaningful change should look like in 2025 and beyond.

** This is just the first in ARTFA’s webinar series. We are committed to amplifying the voices of all cohorts impacted by assisted reproductive treatment.

👉 Next up: Clinic-recruited sperm donors — their experiences, motivations, and the reforms they want to see. Stay tuned for dates !

As Australia’s state and territory Health Ministers are currently reviewing the IVF and donor conception industry in their regions, now is the time to share your story.

Whether you’ve had positive or challenging experiences, your voice matters. You don’t need to write a formal submission—a simple letter or email sharing what you’ve been through and what changes you’d like to see can make a real difference.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a more ethical, transparent, and supportive system for families using assisted reproductive treatment.

📝 You might want to include:

👩‍👧 How the system supported or failed you

👩‍👧 Thoughts on donor anonymity, record keeping, or sibling limits 👩‍👧 Access to counselling or emotional support

👩‍👧 Your hopes for future families

👩‍👧 Anything you wish policymakers truly understood

We’ll be sharing updates and further details across our socials—so please keep an eye out. Real stories have power. Let’s use ours to create change. If you need help drafting your letter or knowing where to send it, we’re here to support you.
